Ian White, herbalist, naturopath and creator of Australian Bush Flower Essences, has developed a range of seven White Light Essences, which incorporate the qualities of the four elements – water, air, earth and fire – plus higher self, devic and angelic.
“The White Light Essences have been created to help us invoke and access the realm of Nature and Spirit within ourselves, to more fully explore and understand our spirituality and fulfil our highest potential,” he explains.
The first four essences relate to the elements and help us to connect, embody and master each element while also aligning us to the Nature Spirit of the particular element. The next three help us to connect with the highest part of ourselves as well as the devic and angelic realms.
Ian spent four years travelling to sacred sites in Mexico, South America, Europe, the Himalayas and his native Australia, in order to create this powerful range.
“During the past twenty years I have researched and developed the Australian Bush Flower Essences, which was a stepping stone to bring me to the point in my growth and spirituality where I have been able to make the White Light Essences. They were made with the utmost integrity, humility and love, and it is in that spirit that I offer them.”
white_light1The essences, made at sacred sites around the world, are a form of vibrational medicine, where taking them alters the vibrations of your body and aura, leading to physical as well as emotional healing. It is a little like homeopathy too, in that the more it is diluted the stronger the potency.
Many people recognise the healing energy of being at a place like Machu Picchu in Peru, the Olgas in Central Australia and Glastonbury in England. Ian has taken that one step further by distilling the essence of these sacred sites into an essence.
“If you are not feeling well and you take a walk through the bush you feel better because you are picking up the healing benefit of the flowers – however a Bush Essence made from that flower is a much more concentrated and potent form of that healing energy,” Ian says.
“It is the same if you go to a sacred place and make up an essence of the vibration of the surroundings – it will work in the same potent form. I was told in meditation the best place on the planet that embodies the quality of each aspect of the essences. For example the Patal Bhuvaneshwar cave in India is the best place to embody the quality of earth. Basically I am invoking and bringing down that particular vibration as an essence.”
Making the essences was a labour of love for Ian, who faced many dangers as he trusted in the guidance he was receiving, which he believes comes directly from Spirit. He found himself crawling along precipices and deep into caves in exotic locations around the world.
“As is Spirit’s wont, they once more directed me to go to the most difficult and dangerous location to make a remedy! All I can think is that they must take great delight in seeing me crawl precariously on all fours along narrow, knife-edged, rocky precipices of great height, loaded up to the gun whales with bottles of brandy, water, bowls and other paraphernalia.”
He has written a small book that goes into detail about what each one is for and how, when and where it was made, and how to use them. It is recommended that water essence be taken first, as it activates and enhances the others. After that you can take them in the order you are drawn to do so. There is also an accompanying CD that can heighten the effect of the essences.
Although it’s hard to explain exactly how or why they work, having tried them I know that they do. It is an intriguing and emotional journey of self-discovery, an eye opening experience for anyone who is ready to look within and move forward with their life purpose.

Water essence allows you to experience intensely any of your own emotional disharmony so it can be purified and released. It assists you to release the past and helps keeps you from remaining closed off after a negative or traumatic experience. There may be a day or two of emotional release in the form of tears, which is part of the process. It is a nurturing essence that helps you become more open to receiving and more trusting and nurturing of yourself. It creates emotional harmony.

Earth essence encourages patience. It fosters a strong connection to and reverence for the earth, nature and earth nature spirits. It helps heal internal structure and order and is a very important grounding remedy. It also helps you to find your direction, become centred and move forward with purpose and clarity. It brings stability to relationships and people having trouble committing to one.

Fire essence has the ancient healing qualities of The Olgas, and encompasses the passion, creation, possibilities and potential of fire. It helps burn off the dross, or impurities, in your life, spiritually in that of the astral body, and physically in your daily life. It provides inspiration and motivation to follow your life path, and a fiery sense of purpose. If you are ready it will create irreversible change, so be aware of what you are asking the universe for. This one in particular works with the sound therapy of the accompanying CD.

Air essence embodies the divine guidance and protection that accompanies one when they go through the darkness. It allows people to journey out to much further realms and levels on the spiritual plane. While making it Ian experienced an extremely blissful state of love and heart opening. The essence provides a sensation of feeling light, easy and carefree. It assists one’s thought processes to become more flowing and gentle. It will also help maintain a balance between an intellectual and an emotional approach, while also aiding discrimination and discernment. When you need to make a decision within an emotionally charged situation, Air will enable you to feel stable, more in control and empowered. It is an excellent remedy for those going through stress and trauma. Made on the top of the world, it will help you see the overview of a problem and not get caught up in the drama of it. It also enhances your guidance and inner knowing in order to deal with the situation more effectively. It invokes peace and harmony, and honours and reflects to us our uniqueness and sacredness.

Higher self essence was the first white light essence created, when Ian was told by Spirit that he wold make a small range of essences that would greatly enhance many aspect of one’s spirituality. The crystal clear vibration of Palenque allows one to align to and access their higher self. The essence helps us be aware of what is beyond the physical experience and can help tapinto sources of ancient wisdom and knowledge. It helps us connect to our earlier incarnations and tap into past life lessons during meditation or in the dream state. You need to feel very grounded when you take it to anchor yourself in present time. It can open dimensional doorways and allow one to access alternate realities – a very powerful essence!

Devic essence helps connect you to the nature spirits and the nurturing wisdom of nature. It helps to establish very strong links with the Devic kingdom, while its spiritual healing quality returns one to a place of simplicity and blissful peace. It brings about a feeling of total oneness – being at one with absolutely everything and far less concerned and preoccupied with the hassle and problems of life.
