Hello, and brightest blessings to you as we dance through the seasons into autumn in the southern hemisphere, and spring in the north. It’s February 2023, and I haven’t written a blog or a newsletter in a very long time, oops! I won’t bore you with the details, but I do have exciting news!

The magical project I’ve been working on for the last five years with brilliant artist (and brilliant author) Selina Fenech has just gone out into the world! Practical Magic: An Oracle for Everyday Enchantment is the most beautiful deck I’ve ever seen. The artworks are breathtaking, and it was such a pleasure to create it with Selina. And of course, no one who knows me will be surprised to hear that the guidebook is kinda massive – more than 300 pages, and more words than my first novel Into the Mists!

What Makes it Practically Magical?

In the guidebook, each card begins with the meaning, featuring the name of the card, the simple explanation, and the extended message. This will provide insight into your issue, outlining your situation, providing context, and giving advice on how to deal with it. Some days, this might be more than enough.

In addition to the general meaning however, there’s the Practical Magic side of things – a magical spell to cast or a ritual to perform, or a practical action to take, such as a task or challenge, journalling exercise, meditation or healing modality, which will help you enhance or work through the message of the card and improve your situation. There are a few options for each card, so you can choose the one that calls to you on that day, or do them all, it’s totally up to you!
